
Punjab News: The BSF has denied the reports that are talking about harvesting wheat and clearing the fields. The Amritsar Deputy Commissioner has clarified that the BSF has not asked the villages along the border to clear the fields of wheat crop in two days. He has said that the BSF has not made any such announcement and the villagers should talk to the local administration about such rumours and bring clarity.
Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni has issued a clarification regarding the rumour that the Border Security Force (BSF) will allow wheat harvesting across the barbed wire in border villages within two days. The BSF has denied making any such announcement and the Deputy Commissioner has confirmed this after speaking to senior BSF officers.
People should not pay heed to baseless rumours- Deputy Commissioner
He said, "The administration urges citizens not to pay heed to such baseless rumours and confirm the information through official channels. Citizens are advised to clarify any such news with local officials like Patwari, Tehsildar or officials of the district administration."
Earlier there were reports of evacuating the fields
Earlier there were reports that farmers in Amritsar's Rodawala village have been asked to harvest their wheat crop and vacate their fields within two days. It was reported that this announcement was also made from the village's Gurudwara. There were also reports that the village's sarpanch Tarsem Singh was told by the BSF to harvest his crop and clear his field by collecting the straw within two days because after that the gates on the fencing will be closed. This village is close to the Attari border. Now the Amritsar administration has clarified that no such thing was said by the BSF.
