Ankit Jaiswal, a 30-year-old resident of Kanjikheda, ran a hardware shop in Ghumni Bazaar. His family includes his mother, Pramila Devi, brother, Avnish, and sister, Mansi. Family members said that about 12 years ago, Ankit befriended a young woman from Surat through Facebook, which later blossomed into a love affair.
It is alleged that the woman had been demanding money from him for a long time. The family said they were ready to convert the relationship into marriage, but about two months ago, the woman refused, citing inter-caste marriage. Ankit had been living under stress since then.
On Tuesday, family members went to hospitalize his uncle, Gyan Dutt Jaiswal, after he suffered a heart attack. Meanwhile, Ankit hanged himself inside his room. When his sister, Mansi, went to call him, he found his body hanging. Chakeri police station in-charge Ajay Prakash Mishra said that action will be taken based on the family's complaint.
