Rain has brought relief to people from the scorching heat in many states of the country, especially in South India. While the heat is increasing in North India including Delhi-Haryana. According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on April 17, there may be heavy rain in Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya and Ganga coastal areas of West Bengal. During this time, strong winds can blow at a speed of 50-60 km per hour. There is an alert of continuous rain in Arunachal Pradesh from 20 to 22 April.

The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rains with thunderstorms in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana and Karnataka during the next 5 days. Strong winds are likely during this period. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on 18 and 19 April. Rains with dust storms are likely at isolated places over East Rajasthan on 17 April.

There may be light rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh today. Along with this, easterly winds will also blow. During the next 24 hours, there may be light rain in many eastern UP including Lucknow, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Prayagraj, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Mirzapur. At the same time, there may be drizzle in western UP as well.

It is getting hot in many states including Delhi-NCR. Heat wave conditions are expected in western and eastern Rajasthan during 17-19 April. People of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh will not get relief from the heat yet. However, there will be light clouds in Delhi.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi-NCR are expected to be around 40 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively on Thursday. There is no hope of relief from heat in Delhi till April 18.
