News Topical, Digital Desk : The Vinayak Chaturthi fast is considered extremely auspicious. This festival falls on the Chaturthi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) of every month. Worshiping Lord Ganesha is a ritual on this day. Worshiping and fasting on this day is believed to alleviate all life's sorrows. According to the Hindu calendar, Vinayak Chaturthi (Vinayak Chaturthi 2025) is being celebrated today, November 24th. Those who observe this fast must recite its story, which is as follows:

Fast story of Vinayak Chaturthi (Vinayak Chaturthi 2025 Vrat Katha)

Lord Ganesha once performed a ritual to break the ego of the Moon God. The Moon once mocked Bappa for his elephant-like face and large belly. This behavior enraged Ganesha, who cursed the Moon God, saying that anyone who saw him on Chaturthi would face false accusations and bring shame to their lives.

This curse by Ganesha caused the moon to lose its brightness, leaving it deeply distressed. All the gods were also troubled by this incident. Some time later, Lord Krishna was falsely accused of stealing the Syamantak Mani. It is believed that this accusation stemmed from his sighting of the moon on Vinayaka Chaturthi. To rid himself of the accusation, Lord Krishna observed a Chaturthi fast and worshipped Ganesha.

When the gods prayed to Ganesha to lift the curse, he said that while the curse could not be revoked completely, its effects could be mitigated. He added that anyone who worshiped him on Chaturthi and read or listened to this story would not be falsely accused and all their troubles would be removed.
