Haldwani. Haldwani Ankit Murder: The main accused Mahi alias Dolly, who was in jail in the case of murder of businessman Ankit Chauhan, has been released after getting bail after one year. This murder was in the news a lot. The murder was committed by getting bitten by a cobra.

At the same time, other accused related to the case are currently lodged in Haldwani and Nainital jails. The body of Ankit Chauhan, a resident of Rampur Road, was found inside his car on Bareilly Road in July last year. Initially, the police were considering the incident as an accident. But during the post-mortem, it was found that there were snake bite marks on both the legs of the deceased.

Ankit died due to cobra poison

The postmortem report made it clear that Ankit died due to cobra poison. After this, the police arrested his girlfriend Mahi, Mahi's maid Usha, the maid's husband Ram Avatar, snake charmer Rameshnath and a youth named Deep Kandpal and exposed the incident.

Police said that these four together got Ankit bitten by a cobra in a planned manner. After that, they put the body on the back seat of the car and left it on Bareilly road. Since then, all the people were in jail. Jailor Pramod Pandey said that Mahi was released from Haldwani jail on August 2 after getting bail from the High Court.
