News Topical, Digital Desk : Starting on January 1, 2026, the first day of the new year, the Uttarakhand administrative structure will see a major change. Several IAS and IPS officers will be promoted. Among these, Haridwar District Magistrate Mayur Dixit and Haridwar Mela Officer Sonika Singh are prominent.
Upon promotion, Additional Secretary Sonika Singh will become a secretary-level officer. If she continues to hold the position of Mela Adhikari, it will be the first time in the history of the Haridwar Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh that a secretary-level officer will also oversee the Ardh Kumbh Mela.
Haridwar District Magistrate Mayur Dixit will also receive a one-grade promotion effective January 1. He will be promoted from Selection Grade Level 12 to Level 13. This is expected to further strengthen the district's administrative responsibilities.
DPC orders will be issued from the new year
The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting regarding the promotion of IAS and IPS officers, chaired by Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan, has already concluded. Based on the DPC's recommendations, promotion orders will be effective from January 1st.
Among these IAS officers, Dr. Ahmed Iqbal, Eva Srivastava, Sonika Singh, Ranjana Rajguru, Anand Swarup, Devkrishna Tiwari, Umesh Narayan Pandey, and Rajendra Kumar, all from the 2010 batch, will be promoted to the post of Secretary. Currently, these officers hold the rank of Additional Secretary. Additionally, Mayur Dixit, Vandana, Vineet Kumar, Reena Joshi, and Anand Srivastava will be promoted to the Selection Grade.
These administrative changes will strengthen the state system.
Regarding IPS officers, Abhinav Kumar will be promoted from ADG to DG, Nivedita Kukreti from DIG to IG, Prahlad Meena from SSP to DIG, and Barinderjit Singh and P. Renuka Devi from DIG to IG.
Additionally, Preeti Priyadarshini and Yashwant Chauhan will be promoted from SSP to DIG, while Tripti Bhatt and Ramchandra Rajguru will be promoted from SP to SSP. These administrative changes, coinciding with the new year, are expected to further strengthen the state's administrative system.
