Ganga Aarti is being performed on the roofs of the Ghats and due to the submergence of the cremation ground Manikarnika, cremation is also being done on the roofs of the Ghats. Masan Nath Mandir at Harishchandra Ghat has also been submerged in water, the situation of cremation there has now reached the mouth of the street.

Due to the rising waves, after boats, cruise operations have also been banned from Wednesday. In the Dhaba area of ​​Chiraigaon, the water of the Ganges has started submerging the vegetable crop sown by farmers in the fields, so people have now set out in search of a safe place by boats.

The water level which was increasing by 8 cm per hour since Tuesday evening, had come down to 6.6 cm per hour by 6 pm on Wednesday due to the water spreading into Varuna and rural areas. If the rate of increase in water level remains the same, then the waves of Ganga can touch the warning point by Thursday evening.

Now this warning point has remained 1.582 meters below 70.262 meters. Due to the rise in water, all the major Ganga Ghats have lost contact with each other.

Electricity cut off in flood affected areas of Sarnath, water up to eight feet in houses

Due to the rise in the water level of Ganga, there was a reverse flow of water in Varuna and Varuna also started overflowing. Water suddenly started entering the houses of Sharad Vishwakarma, Rajkumar Singh, Vijayi Yadav, Subhash Gupta, Rajesh Chaurasia of Chamela Basti on the banks of Salarpur Pulkohana railway line of the area on Tuesday night. By morning, the rooms were filled with water up to eight feet. These people have taken shelter in rented houses with their belongings. Electricity has been cut off in the flood affected areas.

Dhaba residents are looking for a safe place

The flood waters of Ganga have started rising above the bed of the river and submerging the vegetable crops sown on the banks. Fear of flood has created panic among the farmers and cattle rearers of the coastal villages. People have started looking for safe places.

People are taking the help of private boats to cross Dhaba Mokalpur Amba and Dhaba Sota. The beginning of government relief is still on hold waiting for the flood water to cross the warning point. On paper, flood posts have been established and officers and employees of the Revenue Department, Health Department, Panchayat Department and Animal Husbandry Department have been deployed there.
