News Topical, Digital Desk : A transgender woman and her brother were found dead in their rented house in Hanumant Vihar area of Kanpur city in Uttar Pradesh. Police gave this information on Sunday.

According to the police, on Saturday night, the decomposed body of transgender Kajal (25) was found in a box under the bed and the body of her brother Dev (12) was found lying near the bed. Dev was Kajal's adopted brother.

Both siblings lived in a rented house

Police believe that robbery or love affair could be the possible reason behind this double murder. Both were residents of Mainpuri district. Kajal's mother Guddi told the police that she had come to live in a rented house of a retired soldier with Dev about a month ago.

He told that Kajal's mobile was switched off for the last four-five days, which made him suspicious. At present, the police has started investigating the case and action has also been started to arrest the accused soon.

What did Kajal's mother tell?

The mother said that on Saturday she herself went to Kajal's rented house and found it locked. As soon as she entered the house with a second key, she found both the bodies. Naubasta Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Chitranshu Gautam told reporters that the house had been ransacked, cupboards were open and Kajal's iPhone was missing.

He said that after receiving information about the double murder, senior police officials reached the spot along with a team of forensic experts to collect scientific evidence. An empty liquor bottle has been recovered from the spot.

The matter of love affair came to the fore

During police interrogation, neighbours revealed that two young men named Golu and Akash used to visit Kajal's house regularly. Initial investigation has revealed a case of love affair as Kajal was in a love relationship with one of these men.

CCTV footage installed near the house of a woman BJP leader is being scanned. "The nature of the injuries, the missing valuables and the background indicate both a love triangle and robbery," the police officer said. "We are investigating both angles and the case will be solved soon," he said.
