Gorakhpur: Amidst the increasing cases of selling adulterated milk, the Food Safety Department has started preparations to crack down on adulterating milk vendors. Now identity cards (ID cards) will be made for all milk vendors. Also, dairies selling more than five hundred liters of milk will also have to obtain a license.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) will now strictly enforce the rules. Recently, Union Minister of State Anupriya Patel had told the Lok Sabha that the maximum cases of adulteration in milk and milk products come from Uttar Pradesh. After this, the Food Safety Department has started working to ensure the purity of milk and its products.
If it is not prepared then even milk can be confiscated
All milk vendors will have to register at any cost. The team of the Food Safety Department will organize camps and get the registration done. For this, team members will go to the places where milk vendors gather. Milk vendors who do not register will first be given a notice and action will be taken to confiscate the milk.
Even after this, if he does not agree, a case will be filed in the court. If arbitrariness is confirmed in the case, a fine of up to two lakh rupees can be imposed.
Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Dr. Sudhir Kumar Singh said that milkmen will be registered by running a campaign. The fee for registration is fixed at Rs. 100. Milk vendors will have to carry their identity cards. Most milk vendors are vigilant about purity, a campaign is being run to identify those who are increasing adulteration. Strict action will be taken against such people.
