Ghaziabad: Banwari Lal, who rescued people trapped in a shop when a cylinder blasted during illegal gas refilling in Kaila Kheda, will be awarded the Gallantry Award. President Draupadi Murmu has approved his name for the Gallantry Medal.

Banwari Lal lives in Nawada village of Bulandshahr. He told that a year ago a cylinder blast took place in a shop doing illegal gas refilling in Kaila Kheda. At that time he was working as Assistant Deputy Controller in Civil Defence in Ghaziabad (Ghaziabad News).
Two people trapped in a shop were saved from the fire
On receiving the information, he reached the spot and rescued two people trapped in the shop from the flames without caring for his own life. He also evacuated the people around the spot, so that loss of life could be avoided. He said that he is happy that his name has been selected for the Gallantry Medal.
