15,000 USD for US Visa
The US State Department says it is adding 12 more countries to the list of countries whose citizens must submit bonds of up to USD 15,000 to apply for a US visa.
The list of 12 countries includes Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Grenada, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Seychelles, and Tunisia. Passport holders from these countries will be required to submit this bond.
The U.S. Department of State will return this bond if the visa application is denied or, if the visa is granted, if the person complies with the visa conditions.
Starting April 2, 50 countries will be added to the list of countries that must submit bonds for US visas. The Trump administration implemented this requirement last year as part of a move to curb large-scale illegal immigration.
