News Topical, Digital Desk : The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has advised applicants for the UPTET 2026 Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to carefully read the guidelines. It has stated that providing incorrect information will automatically result in cancellation of candidacy.
Such candidates will also not be considered eligible.
It has also been clarified that married male candidates who have more than one living wife or female candidates who are married to a man who already has a living wife will not be considered eligible, unless this restriction has been waived by the Governor. Furthermore, for disabled candidates, the maximum educational qualification for the dictation has been set at Intermediate.
Dictation facility only for such disabled candidates
According to the UPTET 2026 Commission, candidates with complete visual impairments and physical disabilities who are unable to write or circle will be provided with a dictation. This also requires that candidates bring their own dictation.

Candidates must submit a request to the exam center administrator prior to the UPTET 2026 exam date stating their intention to bring a dictationist with them and obtain their permission to have one. It is important to note that the dictationist's educational qualifications should not exceed Intermediate.
You will get 30 minutes extra time
Additionally, it has been decided to provide such candidates with an additional 30 minutes of time. Candidates seeking the use of a dictationist must provide a disability certificate. Any reservation benefit for applying for the TET is only available to those who are natives of Uttar Pradesh.
Life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 crore
The Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 will be applicable in the UPTET 2026 exam, under which there is a provision for life imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore.
