News Topical, Digital Desk : A horrific road accident occurred in Mangaluru, Karnataka. Three people were killed when two tankers, an auto rickshaw and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided at the Panambur intersection on Saturday morning, police said.
This is how this accident happened
According to police, the accident occurred when a gas tanker traveling from Mulki to Mangaluru stopped suddenly to avoid a cow that had crossed the road. Initial reports indicate that an autorickshaw and a car following the tanker managed to stop in time.
Death of people travelling in auto
Suddenly, another tanker, speeding behind these vehicles, failed to brake and collided with the SUV. The impact also impacted the auto-rickshaw, killing the driver and two passengers on the spot. Three people died in the accident.
SUV and tanker drivers escaped unhurt
The process of identifying the deceased is ongoing. However, the drivers of the SUV and the tanker escaped unhurt. The accident disrupted traffic on the busy Mangaluru-Udupi highway for about an hour. Local police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
