
News Topical, Digital Desk : The two-day SCO summit has ended in Tianjin, China. 10 member countries, two observer countries and 14 dialogue partners participated in the SCO group including India, China, Russia. There were two meetings in the SCO summit on which the eyes of the world were fixed, the first, between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping and the second, between PM Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Both the meetings were successful.
Speaking on the SCO summit, Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong on Monday said the SCO summit has helped build consensus and lay a roadmap for development.
SCO emerged as an important force
He said, President Xi Jinping stressed that the SCO has emerged as an important force in promoting a new type of international relations and building a community with a shared future for mankind. This summit has an important mission: to build consensus among all parties, accelerate cooperation and lay out a blueprint for development. It is believed that with the collective efforts of all parties, this summit will be a complete success and the SCO will play an even bigger role in it.
Emphasis on cooperation in the field of Artificial Intelligence
India, along with other member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), deepened cooperation in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and highlighted the strategic importance of this emerging technology in transforming societies and economies.
The Tianjin Declaration of the SCO Heads of State Council, signed and adopted at the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, outlines member states' commitments on artificial intelligence, among other areas. The SCO grouping has 10 member states, two observer states and 14 dialogue partners.
The Tianjin Declaration, based on the UN General Assembly resolution on strengthening international cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence capacity building, emphasized that "all countries have equal rights to develop and use artificial intelligence."
Emphasis on the development of AI
The SCO Member States, including India, expressed their readiness to work together to prevent risks and to continuously improve the security, accountability, reliability, transparency, inclusiveness, trustworthiness and fairness of artificial intelligence technologies for the benefit of all humanity. In this regard, they advocated the implementation of the Roadmap for the Implementation of the Cooperation Programme of the SCO Member States on Artificial Intelligence Development.
Increase cooperation in various fields including artificial intelligence - Jinping
Chinese President Xi Jinping also proposed in his keynote speech at the Tianjing summit that SCO member countries should enhance cooperation in various fields including energy, infrastructure, digital economy, science and technology innovation and artificial intelligence.
