News Topical, Digital Desk : The Indian Army has launched a massive search operation in the mountains of Anantnag district in South Kashmir to locate two missing soldiers. The search is underway in the Gadole area of Kokernag in Anantnag district, where the soldiers were last seen.

According to security officials, the two paramilitary personnel went missing on Sunday in the Gadole Kokernag area of Anantnag, where they were part of a search operation. The area is extremely mountainous and is very close to the Doda-Kishtwar area of the Jammu region.

The operation is being carried out in collaboration with the local army.

The operation was being conducted in coordination with army troops deployed south of the Pir Panjal mountain range. An official said, "All search teams in the operation area, except two soldiers, returned safely to base camp on Sunday evening.

Although the search operation was launched immediately, it was hampered due to bad weather.' He further said, 'The soldiers may have gone missing due to bad weather as the area has been receiving heavy to very heavy snowfall since October 5.'

The area has been cordoned off for two days

The entire area has been cordoned off for the past two days, and reinforcements have been deployed to search the mountains for the soldiers. Additional troops have been sent to the area. The Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed the soldiers' disappearance, stating that they were missing due to bad weather and not due to any terrorist activity.

A police officer said, "While we cannot completely rule out this possibility, the search operation is ongoing. However, the area has received more than two feet of snow in the last 48 hours, hampering the operation." However, the army has not yet released any information about the incident.
