News Topical, Digital Desk : With Nepal's general elections approaching, two major Madhesi parties on Sunday decided to unite. Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) leader Mahanta Thakur and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) leader Upendra Yadav issued a joint statement announcing the unification.
The leaders of both the parties said that the decision to merge the organisations was taken after analysing the current political situation of the country and understanding the need to strengthen the federal democratic republican system.
What was said in the joint statement?
The joint statement, signed by the two presidents, stated that the decision to unify the two parties was made with the aim of creating a just society, strengthening issues such as federalism, identity, proportional inclusivity, and social justice. Necessary discussions and procedural matters will be discussed later.
