Trump admired Mamdani in their first meeting, saying, "We both have one thing in common..."

News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump met with New York City's newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Friday. Zohran and Trump are considered bitter rivals. This marked the first time Trump and Mamdani spoke face-to-face. Trump, putting aside all grievances, extended a warm welcome to Zohran Mamdani.

Trump's attitude seems to have changed after meeting Zohran Mamdani. He has begun to find similarities between himself and Mamdani. Trump says that he and Zohran Mamdani have only one priority: making New York City the best it can be.

Trump praised Mamdani

According to Donald Trump, “We have one thing in common. We love this city (New York City) and want to make it better. I would like to congratulate the mayor. He ran an incredible election and easily defeated his opponent. We talked about housing, food, and prices.” Donald Trump said the White House will provide Mamdani with all the support he needs to improve New York City.

It's worth noting that relations between Trump and Mamdani had deteriorated to such an extent that the Trump administration even called him "communal." Mamdani had also criticized Trump. However, Trump now says, "Our views are a little different. We all change. I have changed too. When I first became president, my first term was excellent. Now we are trying to do even better for our country. Some of my views have changed."

Zohran Mamdani also spared no effort in praising Trump. According to Mamdani, "I think Trump and I have a clear vision. We disagree on many things, but that wasn't the focus of our meeting, and that's what I really appreciated about the president. We share a common goal: to serve the people of New York."
