News Topical, Digital Desk : Nine people have died and 13 others injured in the Bilaspur train accident. The death toll may rise. Bilaspur District Collector Sanjay Agarwal said that a local passenger train left for Bilaspur from Gevra railway station in Korba district today. Agarwal said that when the train was between Gautora and Bilaspur railway stations at around 4 pm today, the local passenger train hit a goods train from behind. The accident occurred on the up line when train number 68733 was going from Gevra Road towards Bilaspur and at the same time a goods train from Bilaspur arrived on the same track. The driver tried to stop the train, but due to the short distance, the collision occurred.


An investigation has been launched into the cause of the train accident that killed the loco pilot
The Railways has ordered a high-level inquiry into the accident. It is being reported that a technical fault in signaling or route diversion caused the trains to come on the same track. The female assistant loco pilot was rescued, while loco pilot Vidya Raj died. The goods train guard, Shailesh Yadav, is seriously injured. Rail operations were briefly disrupted after the accident, but trains are now being diverted to alternative tracks. An additional control room has been set up at Bilaspur railway station. The railway administration has issued emergency helpline numbers for the convenience of passengers and their families.

Due to derailment of a goods train and MEMU local near Bilaspur station today, the following trains have been rescheduled, details of which are as follows:- 

* Train No. 18517 Korba - Visakhapatnam Express leaving Korba at 16.10 hrs today on 04th November 2025 will depart at 21.30 hrs with a delay of 5 hours.

* Train No. 18239 Gevra Road - Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Express leaving Korba at 18.13 hrs today on 04th November 2025 will depart at 21.43 hrs with a delay of 3 hours 30 minutes.

* Train No. 18114 Bilaspur - Tatanagar Express leaving Bilaspur at 18.50 hrs today on 04th November 2025 will depart at 21.50 hrs with a delay of 3 hours.
