News Topical, Digital Desk : Coaches of Hisar Express and Rayalaseema Express caught fire at Tirupati railway station in Telangana on Monday. The fire spread to two coaches of both the trains. However, no casualties were reported in the incident. Both the trains were parked in the yard of Tirupati railway station when the fire broke out. After the fire broke out, railway employees successfully separated the rest of the coaches, preventing any further damage.

Railway Public Relations Officer said that there is no news of any casualty in this incident. Further information is awaited. It is being told that due to the fire, train operations could not be carried out from the station for a long time. Due to this, many trains were also delayed.

A major accident was averted

Hisar Express and Rayalaseema Express trains were standing parallel to each other. When the fire broke out, the coaches of both the trains started burning simultaneously. Vande Bharat train was coming on the adjacent track, but it was stopped in time. This averted a major accident. At the time of the accident, Hisar and Rayalaseema Express were empty. Due to this, no damage was caused. However, a major accident could have occurred if Vande Bharat train had caught fire.

The fire was extinguished in an hour

As soon as the information about the fire was received, the fire brigade and rescue workers reached the spot. However, the fire had spread so much that it took an hour to extinguish it. After the fire was extinguished, the work of removing the burnt train coaches standing on the railway track is being done. The cause of the fire has not been revealed yet. Officials are investigating the entire incident.

Diesel engine increased the challenge

Railway officials said that the train that met with the accident was powered by a diesel engine. Due to this, the challenge for the fire brigade was big. However, the fire was controlled in time and the railway employees had already separated the burning coach from the rest of the train. Due to the fire, people were evacuated from nearby areas as a precaution. Meanwhile, rail traffic between Chennai and other areas has been affected due to the fire. Southern Railway has announced the cancellation of eight trains from Chennai and diversion of five others.
