News Topical, Digital Desk : In the recent past, a trend has become very popular in the country. Everyday people pelt stones on trains. In the last few months, incidents of stone pelting on trains have been seen many times with the intention of damaging government property. But now, there is no mercy for those who pelt stones on trains. In fact, for the next 15 days, the railways are going to run a special campaign to stop stone pelting incidents. Instructions have been issued by the Railway Board regarding this. Starting today, i.e. 28 August, for the next 15 days, an intensive campaign will be run across the country to stop incidents of stone pelting on trains.

Patrolling party will be deployed

Under this campaign, those places have been identified where incidents of stone pelting often take place. RPF patrolling party will be deployed at those places. In such a case, cases will be registered under serious sections against those who ambush and pelt stones. Awareness campaign will be run in schools and colleges. Along with this, awareness campaign will also be run among the children of slums and colonies located around the railway track about the harm caused by stone pelting. The Railway Board will do intensive monitoring of this campaign every day. 

There was stone pelting on the train in the past few days

Let us tell you that recently, the Jan Shatabdi Express going to Una in Himachal Pradesh was pelted with stones near Rupnagar in Punjab, due to which a window glass of the train broke. This incident came to light when a passenger of the train complained about it in a post on 'X' and tagged RPF, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Ambala and Northern Railway. Officials said that Hardik Sharma, a resident of Una district of Himachal Pradesh, boarded the train from Kharar and when the train reached Rupnagar on Friday night, some people pelted stones at it, due to which the window glass of seat number 48 of coach D9 broke. Sharma claimed in a social media post that he was sitting on seat 48, but fortunately he had changed the seat a few minutes before the incident. An official said that no one was injured in this incident.
