News Topical, Digital Desk : The traffic police has taken a big step towards getting rid of the frequent traffic jams on the C-Hexagon road in the India Gate area of New Delhi. A survey was conducted regarding the problem of traffic jam in this area, in which not only the reasons were analyzed, but solutions were also suggested.

Crowds throng every day, lakhs of vehicles commute

Rajeev Kumar, Traffic DCP of New Delhi Range, said that thousands of tourists visit C-Hexagon Road and its surrounding areas every day. This area is constantly busy due to historical and government buildings like India Gate, Holding Court, Patiala House Court, National War Memorial, Baroda House, Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.

Not only this, about three lakh vehicles pass through here every day. Apart from this, the traffic pressure increases further due to a large number of pedestrians and tourists.

The biggest reason for traffic jam is illegal parking

According to the survey, the biggest reason for traffic jams in the Hexagon area is illegal parking. At many places, vehicles are parked in an uncontrolled manner on the roadside, which obstructs traffic. Apart from this, the unavailability of auto and taxi stands, limited parking arrangements, lack of facilities for pedestrians, and lack of deployment of traffic personnel are also making this problem more serious.

These suggestions were sent to the Urban Development Ministry

For a permanent solution to this problem, Traffic DCP Rajeev Kumar has sent a letter to the Urban Development Ministry on May 28. In which suggestions related to getting rid of this problem have been mentioned.

● A multi-level parking should be constructed near the Patiala House court.
● Auto and taxi stands should be set up on Tilak Marg, Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Shahjahan Road.
● Foot over bridges or subways should be built near C-Hexagon so that pedestrians can easily cross the road.
● The number of parking personnel should be increased and clear sign boards should be installed.

The traffic police believe that implementing these suggestions will not only provide relief from traffic jams but will also provide smooth traffic to tourists and locals.
