
News Topical, Digital Desk : This year, the world's tallest effigy of Ravana will be burned in Kota, Rajasthan, on Dussehra. After nearly four months of hard work, Ambala artisan Tejendra Chauhan has created the 221-foot Ravana effigy, weighing 13,500 kilograms.
It cost around Rs 44 lakh to build.
The world's tallest Ravana effigy cost approximately 4.4 million rupees to build. Delhi currently holds the record for burning a 210-foot-tall effigy. The effigy was brought to Kota's Dussehra grounds on Monday night.
Four different teams from Delhi reached Kota
Vivek Rajvanshi, president of the Dussehra Fair Committee, said that Kota's name will be recorded in the Asia Book of World Records and the India Book of World Records for the effigy. Four separate teams from Delhi have arrived in Kota, including representatives from Asia Records and the India Book.
He measured the height of the Ravana effigy and observed other details. He said the effigy was erected at the Dussehra ground with the help of two cranes. Police personnel were also deployed for security.
The face of the effigy is 25 feet
Tejendra Chauhan, the artisan who made the effigy, explained that its face is 25 feet tall and made of fiberglass. Ravana's head has a 58-foot crown adorned with colorful lights. Its sword is 50 feet long and its shoes are 40 feet long. The effigy has 25 remote control points, which will set off fireworks.
The effigies of Meghnath and Kumbhakaran are 60 feet tall each.
Additionally, the effigies of Meghnath and Kumbhakaran have been made 60 feet tall each. Green firecrackers have been placed on all three effigies. 15,000 green firecrackers have been placed on Ravana's effigy, and four thousand green firecrackers have been placed on Meghnath and Kumbhakaran's effigies.
