News Topical, Digital Desk : Delhi News:  The court has convicted an accused named Mohammad Moi alias Mohit in a hair-raising crime in the capital Delhi. The accused not only kidnapped an innocent child and tried to kill him, but also forcibly made him drink alcohol before committing this atrocity.

Additional Sessions Judge Amit Sahlawat, in his judgment convicting the accused, said that the testimony of the victim in this case was of "sterling quality" i.e. so strong, clear and reliable that it formed the foundation of the entire case.

What was the whole matter?

The accused Mohammad Moi kidnapped the innocent child by luring him and took him to a deserted place, made him drink alcohol and then attacked him with a sharp weapon and brick. A passerby saw the bleeding child and informed the police by calling PCR. The child was conscious, but was very scared and in a critical condition.

According to the court, despite the child's young age, he narrated the entire incident clearly and sequentially without any fear. His testimony was logical and consistent, which was also supported by medical and forensic reports, which made it clear that he was speaking the truth.

There were flaws in the investigation, but the case did not waver

There were some flaws in the police investigation. For example, the person who made the PCR call was not questioned and the accused's shirt was shown deposited in the maalkhana records even before his arrest. Still, the court termed these flaws as technical and said that they cannot be given priority in front of this strong and live testimony.

Strict remarks from the court

Judge Amit Sahlawat said, the child's description of what he saw in words was enough for justice. His injuries became a document of his testimony. The accused's cruelty is unacceptable to any civilized society. The court has found the accused guilty under Section 364-A (attempt to murder after kidnapping) and Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
