News Topical, Digital Desk : The Imambara of Dhar city of Madhya Pradesh has now become the property of the state government. Early on Wednesday, the police administration freed the possession of the Tajia Committee and handed it over to the Public Works Department (PWD).
Let us tell you that the Tajia Committee has been claiming the Imambara as its own, while the Cultural Heritage Protection Committee has been fighting to free it.
The PWD had issued a notice to the Tajia Committee, saying that the Imambara was a department building. After this, the Tajia Committee filed a petition in the High Court, saying that it had been in possession of the building since independence.
On 22 April 2025, the High Court rejected the petition of the Tajia Committee and directed the SDM Court to take further action. On July 14, the SDM Court issued an order to remove the possession from the Tajia Committee.
The court had asked the concerned persons including the head of the Tajia Committee Anwar Khan and Mohammad Siddiqui to vacate the said premises within two weeks. In this sequence, the administration removed the encroachment.
