The Karra police received information from villagers that the decomposed body of a young woman, naked and with her head crushed, was lying in the Murhu-Katamakuku forest. Upon receiving the information, the Karra police arrived at the Murhu-Katamakuku forest and found the young woman's body lying about 20-25 feet below the forest trail.
Fear of murder after rape
Police suspect that, judging by the body, the incident occurred 4-5 days ago. The woman was raped and brutally murdered. Her head was crushed to conceal evidence. Karra police recovered a crushed stone, a hair from the deceased woman, a piece of jawbone, black socks on both feet, and a black scarf around her neck from the scene.
The incident is from the border area
The area where the young woman's body was recovered is Kulhutu, Katmakuku, Murhu, and Lodhma villages, located on the border between Khunti and Ranchi districts, where criminals often commit such crimes. Karra police are currently working to identify and verify the body. They are gathering information about young women missing from their homes in the police station area.
A similar case had come up before
It should be noted that in April 2025, the Karra and Khunti police recovered the charred body of a young woman in Kumba, along the Murhu-Katamkuku main road near Lodhma. The perpetrators involved have been identified and sent to jail. This is the second such incident, which has created an atmosphere of panic in the area.
