News Topical, Digital Desk : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed deep condolences on the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on Wednesday morning. In a post on Instagram, Mamata said, "I am deeply shocked by the sudden demise of Ajit Pawar.

“The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and those traveling with him were killed in a tragic plane crash in Baramati this morning, and I am deeply saddened. My deepest condolences to the family of the late Ajit Pawar, his uncle Sharad Pawar, and all his friends and supporters.”

Demand for investigation into the accident

CM Mamata Banerjee also demanded a proper investigation into the plane crash. It is known that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's charter plane crashed while landing at Baramati Airport in Maharashtra this morning. All five people on board, including Ajit Pawar and two pilots, died on the spot.

What did DGCA say?

A team of DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) officials is on its way to the accident site. DGCA said that at the time of the accident, the Learjet 45 aircraft was carrying five passengers, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar along with two other personnel (a PSO and an attendant) and two crew members (pilot-in-command and first officer). The DGCA official said that as per initial information, no one on board survived the plane crash.
