News Topical, Digital Desk : The police has arrested the accused who murdered the priest at Kalkaji temple in south-east Delhi. The police has arrested 26-year-old Nitin Pandey, a resident of Govindpuri. 

Apart from this, Nitin's father Anil Kumar has also been arrested for giving shelter to the accused and helping him escape from police custody. Delhi Police has arrested a total of five accused in this case so far.

Let us tell you that a 35-year-old sevadaar was allegedly beaten to death after a quarrel with some people at Kalkaji temple in Delhi. Police had earlier arrested three people in this case. According to officials, the police control room was informed about the dispute in the temple at around 9.30 pm on Friday night.

Atul Pandey (30), a native of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh and living in Dakshinpuri here, was caught on the spot by locals and handed over to the police, while two other accused were arrested on Saturday.

The two others arrested were identified as Mohan alias Bhura (19) and Kuldeep Bidhuri (20), both residents of Tughlakabad. Officials said Mohan and Kuldeep are cousins. Police said the accused, who had come to visit the temple, asked for 'chunniprasad' (chunni and prasad) from sevadar Yogendra Singh, a resident of Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh, following which the brawl began.

The dispute took a violent turn

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari said the dispute took a violent turn when the group punched Singh and beat him with sticks. According to officials, Singh had been serving at the Kalkaji temple for the past 14-15 years. He was rushed to the AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) Trauma Centre, where he died during treatment.
