News Topical, Digital Desk : With the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections approaching, parties are now gearing up to woo the lower half of the population. Whether it's the Samajwadi Party or the Bharatiya Janata Party, all are promoting themselves as champions of women. The Samajwadi Party has promised to provide ₹40,000 annually to women if it forms the government. In response, the ruling BJP has launched a women's reservation campaign and raised the issue of atrocities against women during the SP regime.
The BJP has now fielded rebel SP MLA Pooja Pal against the SP. She has raised questions about the SP by attacking Atiq Ahmed. The parties' struggle for their vote bank ahead of the elections is set to intensify
The SP40Claimed to give thousand annually
Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav has claimed that if he comes to power, he will give 40,000 rupees annually to the head of the household, and is setting aside half the population in the PDA. Recently, he honored women at his state office. The money being transferred to the accounts of women in several states is said to be inspired by this scheme.
BJPplayed the gamble of women's safety and reservation
Akhilesh Yadav's statement about appeasing half the population has caused a stir within the BJP camp. The BJP is making the issue of atrocities against women during the Samajwadi Party regime an issue and is preparing to introduce the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which provides 33% women's reservation, in the UP Assembly soon.
All eyes on the electoral game changer
It's worth noting that women voters have been game-changers in elections. According to current data, the total number of female voters is approximately 15,455,288. While the SP is focused on cash transfer promises, the BJP is focusing more on existing schemes and women's safety.
Pooja Pal's statement caused political uproar
MLA Pooja Pal issued a statement, saying that Atiq received protection during the SP government. The film "Dhurandhar 2" has revealed the secrets of Atiq's relationship with the SP. She said, "During the SP's rule, Atiq eroded the country like termites." She claimed Atiq's role in the counterfeit currency trade and, while also calling Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath a "Dhurandhar Chief Minister," said that the Yogi government ended the empire of Atiq and Mukhtar.
SP counterattacks
Pooja Pal's statement has caused a political uproar. The Samajwadi Party also took aim. SP spokesperson Udayveer Singh questioned Pooja Pal, asking why she joined the Samajwadi Party if she knew about so many evils.
However, claims are being made regarding schemes and becoming supporters of women voters who play an important role in the victory of elections, now it remains to be seen towards whom the women votes will lean.
