A hit-and-run incident has occurred in Sector 46, Chandigarh. A speeding black Thar car struck two sisters standing on the roadside. The elder sister, Sozef, died in the accident, while the younger sister, Isha, was seriously injured.
The two sisters, residents of Chandigarh's Burail area, were returning from college and were waiting for an auto-rickshaw on the roadside when a speeding Thar car suddenly struck them, and the driver fled. Locals immediately rushed them to the hospital, but Sozef was declared dead. Isha is undergoing treatment at Sector 32 Hospital.
The Thar vehicle has a Chandigarh registration number. Police said the vehicle's number indicates a Sector 21 address, but the accused no longer lives there. Police are searching for the driver using CCTV footage.
