News Topical, Digital Desk : Telugu film actress and BJP leader Karate Kalyani has requested the Hyderabad police to register an FIR against actor Prakash Raj for allegedly making derogatory, malicious and provocative comments on Lord Shri Ram and the Ramayana.
The actress filed a complaint at the Punjagutta police station, demanding action against Prakash Raj, alleging that he is deliberately brainwashing children through his theatre incubator Nirdiganta, which he describes as a form of cultural politics, and comparing the sacred Ramayana to beef eating at the Kerala Literature Festival.
What was said in the complaint?
In his complaint, he stated that Prakash Raj's actions constitute offences under sections 196, 299, 353 of the Indian Penal Code and section 67 of the Information Technology Act. He stated that as per widely circulated news on the internet media, actor Prakash Raj, while speaking at the Kerala Literature Festival, Kozhikode in January 2026, made extremely derogatory, distorted and malicious comments about Lord Shri Ram and the holy Ramayana.

They also presented a video link of his speech in which he admitted that Nirdiganta runs programmes where children are encouraged and misled to write and stage such anti-Hindu plays.
