News Topical, Digital Desk : On Tuesday, the second day of the Akshaya Tritiya festival in the religious city of Kashi, thousands of devotees bathed in the sacred Chakra Pushkarni Kund at Manikarnika Ghat, seeking eternal virtue. After bathing in the Kund, the devotees visited and worshipped the eight-metal statue of Goddess Manikarnika.

Extensive security arrangements were made for this occasion to ensure the safety of devotees. According to the Kashi Khand, this pond has existed since before the descent of the Ganges. It is believed that Lord Vishnu performed penance here for thousands of years to please the Supreme God, Mahadev. He established the pond with his Sudarshan Chakra for the bath of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

During this time, Goddess Parvati's earring fell into the pond, giving it the name Manikarnika. Bathing on Akshaya Tritiya holds special significance, as bathing in this pond bestows eternal benefits and the virtues of the four holy places. Therefore, the number of devotees increases significantly on this day.

On Tuesday, the second day of Akshaya Tritiya, the Uttara Pujan of Goddess Manikarnika Devi was performed with due rituals. On this auspicious occasion, a 56-course offering of Prasad was offered to the Goddess. After the puja, all devotees bathed in the Chakra Pushkarni Kund, attaining eternal virtue. It is believed that simply bathing and visiting the temple on this day bestows eternal virtue.

After the worship, the idol of the Mother Goddess was installed at the residence of the head priest for a year. According to tradition, the Mother Goddess will now reside at the head priest's residence for a year. On this occasion, devotees expressed their faith and devotion to the Mother Goddess.
