News Topical, Digital Desk : The US has thanked the CBI for busting an international cybercrime network targeting its citizens. "India's investigative agency, the CBI, has busted an illegal call center targeting US citizens and arrested a key operator of the international cybercrime network," the US Embassy said in a post on X.

Dismantling the international network

"Our agencies are working together to dismantle this international network to prevent future fraud and keep our citizens safe. Thank you, CBI Headquarters, for your continued support," the post said.

CBI arrested a youth from Lucknow

Last week, the CBI arrested Vikas Kumar Nimar from Lucknow, who allegedly operated VC Infrometrix Private Limited in Lucknow. He had been absconding for a year. During the raid, it was also discovered that he was operating another illegal call center targeting individuals in the United States.
