News Topical, Digital Desk : The US intelligence service on Tuesday claimed to have seized a large number of SIM cards and servers, dismantling a major telecom network ahead of the United Nations General Assembly.

More than one lakh SIM cards destroyed

The operation destroyed more than 300 SIM servers and more than 100,000 SIM cards in the New York area, which could have crippled telecom networks and launched anonymous telephony attacks, the agency said in a post on X.

This is a big success for the intelligence service.

The UN General Assembly is attended by world leaders, and this is being considered a major success for the intelligence service.

It was reported that there was a threat of attack on the United Nations General Assembly from a network of electronic devices in the New York tristate area, which was averted in time.

Forensic examination of the equipment is being done.

These devices could have disabled cell phone towers, made anonymous threats, and posed a serious threat through encrypted calls between criminals. The agency said the devices were being forensically examined.

Initial analysis indicates some communication between the terrorists and the perpetrators. The agency said these networks were disrupted within a 35-mile radius of the United Nations General Assembly. Further investigation is underway.
