News Topical, Digital Desk : Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda has been on a sit-in protest since Mauni Amavasya at the Magh Mela in Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh). He alleges that he was prevented from bathing in the Sangam in his palanquin on Mauni Amavasya. During this, his disciples were jostled, leading to a sit-in protest. Meanwhile, Jan Shakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav reacted today (Friday).

Shankaracharya is respectable and revered: Tej Pratap Yadav

Regarding the alleged insult of Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj at the Magh Mela, Tej Pratap Yadav said, “Shankaracharya is respectable and revered. The way he was treated should not have happened. Saints, sages and Mahatmas are the light of knowledge. Jan Shakti Janata Dal opposes the way he was treated.”

Tej Pratap wishes Happy Basant Panchami

On the other hand, Jan Shakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav said, "Today, on the occasion of Basant Panchami, I extend my best wishes to the people of the entire country, especially the people of Bihar... Mother Saraswati holds the Veena, she is the goddess of knowledge, hence the students keep pens and books and these are also worshipped along with it."

Swami Avimukteshwarananda's health deteriorates

Swami Avimukteshwarananda has stated that he was unable to install 1.25 lakh Shivlingas and will not bathe on Basant Panchami until the administration apologizes. He has been on a sit-in protest ever since. Now his health has deteriorated and he has developed a fever.
