News Topical, Digital Desk : The country's largest automaker, Tata Motors Ltd., has successfully completed its much-anticipated demerger. The company's business has now been split into two independent listed entities: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPV) and Tata Motors Limited (TMLCV). The company stated in an exchange filing that the passenger vehicle unit will now be known as TMPV, while the commercial vehicle business has been renamed Tata Motors Limited .

The company clarified that the record date for the demerger was set for October 14, 2025. Investors who held Tata Motors shares until that date have now received two separate shares: one from TMPV and one from Tata Motors Limited (CV Business). The company stated that both new shares have been credited to investors' demat accounts. Following the demerger, TMPV will include Tata Motors' passenger vehicle, electric vehicle, and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) businesses, while

Tata Motors Limited (CV Business) will now focus on trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles. Tata Motors CV Business Listing Date: Following the demerger, investors are now eyeing the listing of the commercial vehicle business (TMLCV). SEBI regulations require the demerged entity to be listed on the stock exchange within 60 days of the NCLT order. The company has informed that the listing and trading of TMLCV shares may commence on NSE and BSE by the end of November or early December 2025, after all the necessary regulatory approvals are received. Meanwhile, the new shares will remain in a frozen state in the demat accounts of the investors, meaning they cannot be transacted until trading is permitted.
