
News Topical, Digital Desk : A stampede during a TVK rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, has claimed 41 lives so far. Following this tragic incident, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has decided to send an eight-member delegation to investigate the cause of the accident and meet with the families of the victims.
BJP President JP Nadda formed this committee. The team includes BJP MPs Anurag Thakur, Tejasvi Surya, Brijlal, Aparajita Sarangi, Rekha Sharma, Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde, and TDP's K. Putta Mahesh Kumar. BJP MP and actress Hema Malini will be the convener of the committee.
Where will the NDA team go?
BJP President J.P. Nadda expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery. The team will visit the site, assess the situation, and submit a detailed report, according to the statement.
Earlier, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, accompanied by Union Minister L. Murugan and Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran, met with the families of the victims. She assured them that the central government would provide all possible assistance. Sitharaman also visited the Government Medical College Hospital in Karur and inquired about the well-being of the injured.
Stalin's message
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin described the incident as a grave tragedy. He said that as soon as he learned of the incident, he immediately activated the district administration and ordered them to take all necessary steps.
"What happened in Karur is a brutal tragedy. This is an accident that has never happened before and should never happen again. The scenes I witnessed at the hospital are still fresh in my mind," Stalin said in his video message.
