Tamil Nadu: Car mows down several people after a minor argument, killing one; DMK leader's son arrested

News Topical, Digital Desk : In Tamil Nadu, the 20-year-old son of a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ( DMK) leader hit four people with his car, killing one of them. Police have arrested Aditya, the DMK leader's son, in connection with the murder.

Apart from the main accused Aditya, the police have also arrested his friends Hrithik Kumar and Harish, who were also inside the car with Aditya during the incident.

DMK leader's son accused of murder

According to police, the victim, identified as Shivamurthy, an assistant labor inspector from Krishnagiri district, died after being hit by Aditya's car.

Police said that a murder case has been registered and all three accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway.

A minor quarrel escalated into murder

Sivamurthy's son, Kirubakaran, explained the incident, saying, "Our two-wheeler was parked outside our house. They came and honked. When we tried to move our vehicle, they hit our two-wheeler and damaged it."

Shivamurthy's son said, "They were drunk. When our neighbors and I questioned their behavior, they brought a stick and tried to beat us. My father was talking to them calmly. Suddenly, one of them hit him with a car, killing him."

According to an NDTV report, a police officer said that Aditya's father is a DMK leader in Krishnagiri district. The victim's family has demanded strict action. We are proceeding further. A murder case has been registered.

BJP attacks DMK

Bharatiya Janata Party chief in the state, Nainar Nagendran, has attacked the ruling party DMK over this incident.

The BJP leader said, "What answer does the Chief Minister have? DMK workers have become powerful and are ready to do anything anywhere."
