News Topical, Digital Desk : The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Uttarakhand High Court to expeditiously decide two separate petitions filed against the repeated temporary acquisition of the private helipad at Govind Ghat belonging to aviation company Deccan Charters Private Limited by the state government.

A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice Vipul M. Pancholi directed the Registrar General of the Nainital High Court to seek directions from the Chief Justice and list the two pending petitions of the aviation company before a bench there in the week commencing March 9, 2026.

The bench directed that whichever High Court bench hears the petitions should deliver its decision within two months. Keeping in mind the upcoming Chardham Yatra in the state, it said that if the petitions are not disposed of within the stipulated period, the airlines may approach the Supreme Court to refile the petition.

Deccan Charters Pvt Ltd has claimed in the petition that the repeated takeover of its private helipad by the state government is illegal, arbitrary and unconstitutional.
