Airbus issues advisory for A320

Airbus has announced a software update for its A320 aircraft. Last year, a JetBlue flight experienced a technical glitch. An evaluation revealed that intense solar radiation was affecting the aircraft's data, potentially posing a risk.

It may take up to 1 week

Airbus will update the new software to more than 6,000 aircraft it operates worldwide. This process is expected to be completed within a few hours for most aircraft. However, it could take up to a week for around 1,000 aircraft.

Airbus' decision could impact 70 percent of European airlines' flights. According to the European Union Aircraft Safety Agency (EASA), this could lead to flight disruptions, potentially causing inconvenience to passengers. However, their safety is paramount for us.

Why was there a sudden need for a software update?

On October 30th, a JetBlue Air A320 aircraft's computer suddenly malfunctioned. The plane was traveling from Mexico to the United States when the tail section of the aircraft tilted downward. The pilot quickly made an emergency landing in Florida.

An investigation revealed that solar radiation had caused the malfunction. Airbus has decided to update the software on all A320 aircraft.
