Also, 56 bhogs are offered. By doing this, the devotee gets success in all the works. Some things should not be eaten even by mistake on the day of Janmashtami. This can break the fast.

If you are observing Janmashtami fast , then during the fast you can consume fruits, milk, curd, sweet potato, buckwheat flour roti. Apart from this, amaranth laddu and panchamrit can be offered to Laddu Gopal and then consumed.
What not to eat during Janmashtami fast (Janmashtami Vrat Vrat Me Kya Na Khaye)
Food should not be consumed during Janmashtami fasting. Apart from this, garlic and onion should also not be consumed. Also, alcohol, meat and eggs should not be consumed even by mistake.

This year, the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month is starting on 26th August at 03:39 in the night. Also, this Tithi will end on 27th August at 02:19 in the night. In such a situation, Janmashtami fast will be observed on 26th August. The auspicious time to worship Laddu Gopal is from 12:01 to 12:45 in the night of 27th August.
