New Delhi : The month of Sawan is completely dedicated to Mahadev, the God of Gods. This month, special worship of Lord Shiva is held. It is contained in Vishnu Purana from Devshayani Ekadashi, where Lord Shri Hari goes to rest in Kshir Sagar. At the same time, Lord Vishnu awakens on Devuthani Ekadashi's date. During Chaturmas, Mahadev, the God of Gods, controls the universe. Therefore, special worship of Lord Shiva is done in the month of Sawan ( Sawan 2024 ). Devotees offer fruits, flowers, and water to please Lord Shiva on this auspicious occasion. But do you know that 5 things should not be offered to Lord Shiva even by mistake? Offering these things displeases the Goddess of the world, Mother Parvati and Mahadev. Let's know

Turmeric

If we believe the religious experts, do not offer turmeric to Lord Shiva. Turmeric is related to the female element. On the other hand, Shivling is the flame form of Lord Shiva. The male element is present in it. Apart from this, turmeric is used as a spice. Its consumption increases the Tamoguna in the body. For this, it is advised not to offer turmeric to Lord Shiva. Hence, do not offer turmeric to Lord Shiva even by mistake during worship.

Vermilion

Do not offer sindoor to Lord Shiva during worship. Doing so displeases Goddess Parvati. This is mentioned in Shiv Puran. It is said that long ago, an ascetic offered turmeric and lemon together to Lord Shiva. This stained Lord Shiva's body with blood. Seeing this, Goddess Parvati became displeased and angry. At that time, Goddess Parvati forgave the ascetic at Lord Shiva's request. Therefore, do not offer sindoor to Lord Shiva even by mistake during worship (Shiv Puja Vidhi).

Shell

Do not offer a conch to Lord Shiva during worship, nor do the Abhishek of Mahadev (Shivling Puja Niyam) by filling water in the conch. It is contained in the scriptures that Lord Shiva defeated an asura named Shankhachud in the war. Asura Shankhachud considered Mahadev, the God of Gods, as his enemy. Therefore, do not offer a conch to Lord Shiva. By doing this, the full benefit of worship is not achieved.

Basil

Do not offer even Tulsi leaves to Mahadev, the God of Gods. Vishnu Purana states that Jalandhar's wife Vrinda was devoted to her husband. Along with this, Vrinda was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. Due to her devotion to her husband, it was not easy for the gods to kill Jalandhar. At that time, Lord Shiva had deceitfully violated Vrinda's devotion to her husband. After the killing of Jalandhar, the gods defeated the demons in the war. At that time, Vrinda had cursed Lord Shiva not to offer Tulsi.

Fractured Belpatra

Lord Shiva loves Belpatra very much. However, do not offer broken Belpatra to Mahadev, the God of Gods. By doing this, the full benefits of worship are not achieved. For this, while offering water to Lord Shiva, do not offer broken Belpatra even by mistake. At the same time, offering three-leafed Belpatra pleases Lord Shiva quickly.
