Among these, Kajari Teej, Aja Ekadashi, Krishna Janmashtami, Radha Ashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Anant Chaturdashi, Haritalika Teej, Monthly Shivratri, Pradosh Vrat etc. are prominent. Apart from this, many major fasts and festivals including Parivartini Ekadashi, Trayodashi Vrat, Kalashtami are celebrated. Let us know about all the fasts and festivals falling in this week-

List of fasts and festivals (Weekly Fast Festival 11 Aug To 17 August 2025)

• Heramba Chaturthi is on 12th August. This festival is celebrated every year on Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Lord Ganesha is worshipped on this auspicious occasion. Also, a fast is observed on Chaturthi Tithi. 
• The festival of Kajari Teej will also be celebrated on 12 August   . This festival is celebrated every year on the Tritiya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshipped on this auspicious occasion. On this day, married women observe a fast for unbroken good fortune.  
• Balaram Jayanti is on 14th August. This festival is celebrated in the month of Bhadrapad. On this day, the appearance day of Dau Bhaiya i.e. Balaram Ji is celebrated.
• Janmashtami is on 16th August. This festival is celebrated every year on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapad month. On this auspicious occasion, Lord Krishna, the savior of the world, is worshipped with devotion. Along with this, Ashtami fast is observed. 
• Dahi Handi is on 17th August. This festival is celebrated every year on the ninth day of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapad month. Vaishnav people will celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna on 16th August. This festival is celebrated in many states of the country including Maharashtra and Gujarat. 
• Leo Sankranti is on 17th August. On this day, Sun God will transit from Cancer to Leo. Ganga bath is taken on Sankranti Tithi. Sun God is also worshipped. After this, charity is done.
