Airbus Advisory has issued technical instructions for A320 aircraft operating worldwide, which may also affect the flights of Air India and IndiGo. Both Indian companies have Airbus A320 aircraft, due to which domestic flights may be affected on a large scale. At the same time , more than 6,000 A320 aircraft operating worldwide may need upgrades .
Air India and IndiGo have issued advisories for air passengers, while Japan's ANA Airlines has also cancelled 65 flights.
European airline Airbus said Friday it was ordering an immediate software update on a large number of its best-selling A320 aircraft. Industry sources said the software update would apply to about 6,000 planes, or more than half the company's global fleet.
Air India issued advisory
Air India shared a post on social media platform X and wrote, "Airbus has issued guidelines for A320, due to which there will be some changes in software and hardware in the Airbus A320 included in Air India's fleet. This may lead to delays in operations. Also, air travel is likely to take longer."
Air India said in the advisory-
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to passengers. However, service disruptions are expected until the Airbus A320 is reset. We request passengers to check their flight information at https://airindia.com/in/en/manage/flight-status.htlml before arriving at the airport. Alternatively, passengers may contact 011-6969329333 and 011-69329999.
What did Indigo say?
IndiGo also issued an advisory, saying, "Passenger safety is our priority. Airbus has issued technical guidelines for the A320 fleet worldwide. As a protocol, we are carrying out mandatory updates to the aircraft. During this time, some flight timings may change. Our teams are available 24 hours a day to handle rebookings, updates, and provide information."

Airbus issued a statement stating that the A320 is being affected by solar radiation. Increasing solar radiation during flight is making it difficult to share data. Vulnerable aircraft have been identified and all airlines have been urged to make necessary changes.
How many flights will be affected?
This Airbus advisory could impact flights worldwide. Japan's ANA Airlines has canceled 65 flights. Meanwhile, 200-250 flights are expected to be affected in India. Some flights are likely to be delayed, while others may be canceled.
