News Topical, Digital Desk : Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, popularly known as Baba Bageshwar, has sparked controversy with his statement about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He claimed that Shivaji Maharaj, tired of constant wars, went to Samarth Ramdas Swami.

He removed his crown and placed it at her feet, requesting her to take over the administration of the kingdom. He also fueled controversy by advising Hindus to have four children, suggesting that one should be dedicated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Opposition leaders attacked Maharashtra CM

The statement was made at an event in Nagpur on Friday in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat. Opposition leaders sharply attacked the ruling Mahayuti government, accusing it of remaining silent on the issue.

Other Congress leaders, including Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Harsh Vardhan Sapkal, condemned the statement. Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar argued that Shivaji Maharaj was fighting for Swaraj. He never tired.

He called the claim that the state was handed over to Ramdas Swami historically baseless. He said it was shameful that such statements were made in the presence of the Chief Minister and Union Ministers. He questioned why they remained silent and asked whether the BJP agreed that Shivaji Maharaj had surrendered his crown.

Mahayuti government providing platform for these insults: Congress

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that first a statue was demolished in Malvan in coastal Sindhudurg district due to corruption and now their history is being insulted by bringing in outsiders.

To say that they gave their state to someone else is a historical sin. He also alleged that the Maha Yuti government is providing a platform for these insults.

Baba Bageshwar should be banned: NCP
NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar said it was sad that the state rulers were present on the stage when Baba Bageshwar was allegedly insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Baba Bageshwar should be banned in Maharashtra. Another NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA, Jitendra Awhad, demanded an unconditional apology from Shastri.

As far as documented history is concerned, there is no evidence of any such incident: Fadnavis

Responding to the controversy surrounding Baba Bageshwar's statement, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that such claims have no historical basis. Many folk tales and stories are prevalent, but as far as documented history is concerned, there is no evidence of such an incident.

Although people may express their beliefs in different ways, it is important to rely on authentic historical records of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's life. Saints express their views from time to time. Their perspectives must be understood correctly.

Bageshwar Baba's primary objective was to promote the RSS as an organization that has kept Hindu culture and eternal traditions alive and strong. His message is that every household should have at least one member of the RSS.
