News Topical, Digital Desk : President Draupadi Murmu has nominated four well-known people of the country for Rajya Sabha. This includes the name of famous government lawyer Ujjwal Nikam. The Union Home Ministry said in a notification issued late Saturday night that the President has nominated four people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated all the four members nominated to the Rajya Sabha. Describing Ujjwal Nikam's dedication to the legal field and the Constitution as exemplary, he posted on Instagram that he has not only been a successful lawyer but has also been at the forefront in getting justice in important cases.

PM Modi posted on X

"Throughout his legal career, Ujjwal Nikam has always worked to strengthen constitutional values and ensure that common citizens are treated with due respect," PM Modi wrote on Twitter.

He wrote, "It is a matter of great pleasure that the President of India has nominated Ujjwal Nikam to the Rajya Sabha. My best wishes to him for his parliamentary tenure."

 

PM Modi called Nikam

PM Modi also called Ujjwal Nikam and congratulated him. Giving information about this, the government lawyer said, "I thank the President for nominating me. When I met PM Modi during the Lok Sabha election campaign, he expressed his confidence in me. Yesterday PM Modi called me to inform me about my nomination."

He said, "PM Modi asked me whether he should speak in Hindi or Marathi, at which we both started laughing. Then PM Modi spoke to me in Marathi and told me that the President wants to give me responsibility, after which he told me about the President's decision. I immediately said yes. I thank the party leadership."

 

Played an important role in getting Kasab the death penalty

Let us tell you, Ujjwal Nikam is a very famous government lawyer and he played an important role in getting the death sentence for Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist caught alive in the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack.
