News Topical, Digital Desk : In Odisha, many criminal cases related to women have come to light in the recent past. Now another case has come to light from Bhubaneswar AIIMS, where a female employee of AIIMS has accused a nursing officer of the hospital of sexual harassment. After the woman's complaint, the nursing officer of the hospital has been arrested. A senior police officer said that a complaint was lodged against the accused nursing officer Nanu Ram Chaudhary at the Khandagiri police station of the city, after which a case was registered against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

In fact, a female employee of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar had lodged a complaint with the police on Monday. The woman had alleged that a male nursing officer sexually harassed her and attempts were made to outrage her modesty. Immediately after the FIR was lodged, all the employees recruited in the hospital through various agencies, including the victim, started protesting outside the main gate and demanded action against the accused. The police officer said that they stopped the protest after the accused was arrested.

In her complaint, the victim claimed that the nursing officer called her to a doctor's chamber around 1 am on Sunday night and sexually assaulted her. The woman also claimed that she somehow escaped from the spot and reported the incident to the hospital control room. She told reporters, "I want justice and demand the arrest of the nursing officer. We are not safe even in the hospital." Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar-based AIIMS has handed over the investigation of the case to its Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). Let us tell you that even before this, many cases of sexual harassment have been reported in Odisha.
