Why doesn't marriage happen
Sawan comes in Chaturmas and any kind of auspicious work is prohibited during this period. According to religious beliefs, Chaturmas includes the months of Ashadha, Shravan, Bhadrapad and Ashwin. During this period, Lord Vishnu is in Yog Nidra for four months.
In such a situation, if marriages and other auspicious activities are performed during this period, then the blessings of Lord Vishnu are not received. This is the reason why marriages and other auspicious activities are not performed during the month of Saavan which falls during Chaturmas.
From when to when is Chaturmas
Chaturmas starts from Devshayani Ekadashi of the Shukla Paksha of the Ashad month, which continues till Devuthani Ekadashi of the Shukla Paksha of the Kartik month. In such a situation, this year Chaturmas has started from 6th July, which will continue till 1st November.
what to do in saavan
In the month of Sawan, you must observe a fast on Sawan Monday to get the blessings of Lord Shiva. Along with this, you can also chant the mantras of Lord Shiva on Sawan Monday or daily. In Sawan, perform the Abhishek of Shivling daily at home or by going to the temple. Along with this, you can also get benefits by reciting Shiv Chalisa daily in Sawan.

1. The basic mantra of Lord Shiva -

2. Mahamrityunjaya Mantra -
ॐ We offer to you the Tri-Ambakam, the fragrant one, the enhancer of nourishment
Free me from the bondage of death like Urvashi from the nectar.
3. Rudra Mantra -
Om Namo Bhagavate Rudraya.
4. Rudra Gayatri Mantra -
ॐ Tatpurushaya विद्महे Mahadevaya धीमहि। May Rudra pray for us.
