News Topical, Digital Desk : Anuj Chaudhary, who served as the Superintendent of Police (CO) in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, and is currently posted as ASP in Firozabad, has filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking the quashing of the FIR filed against him by the Sambhal CJM. On January 9th, an order was issued to file a case against 20 police officers, including Anuj Chaudhary, alleging that five people were killed in police firing during the Sambhal violence on November 24, 2024.
Yamin, the father of Alam, the young man injured in the firing, filed a petition in the CJM court seeking a case against the police personnel. Hearing the case, Judge Vibhanshu Sudhir ordered the filing of a case against the police personnel. Now, Anuj Chaudhary has filed a revision petition in the High Court seeking to quash CJM Vibhanshu Sudhir's order.
What happened on 24 November 2024?
It should be noted that on November 24, 2024, during a survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, widespread violence broke out. Five people were killed in police firing while controlling the crowd, while several police personnel were injured. During this time, CO Anuj Chaudhary came into the spotlight for his actions. He was accused of taking unilateral action.

A young man, Alam, was also shot and seriously injured in the violence. Alam's father filed a petition in the CJM court on February 4, 2025, leveling serious allegations against the police, alleging that Alam was shot. He named 20 police personnel, including CO Anuj Chaudhary.
In an 11-page order dated January 9, CJM Vibhanshu Sudhir ordered the registration of an FIR against the police personnel, finding the police report questionable.
