News Topical, Digital Desk : A Russian plane has suddenly disappeared from the radar. This plane is an AN-24 passenger plane. There were about 50 people on board the plane. On Thursday, the plane lost contact with air traffic control in Russia's Far Eastern region.

According to Interfax and Shot news channels, the plane operated by Angara Airlines was heading to the city of Tynda in the Amur region bordering China and was believed to be a few kilometres from its destination when it lost contact.

Regional governor Vasily Orlov said that according to preliminary information, there were 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members on board the plane. "All necessary forces and means have been deployed to search for the plane," he wrote on Telegram.

However, the Emergency Ministry put the number of people on board the plane at slightly less, around 40.
