News Topical, Digital Desk : A massive uproar erupted during the proceedings of the Bihar Legislative Council on Tuesday (February 10, 2026). The House even came to blows. Marshals had to intervene. Consequently, the Chairman suspended all opposition members for the day.
A confrontation broke out between RJD MLC Sunil Singh and JDU minister Ashok Choudhary. Following the Speaker's orders, marshals removed the opposition members from the House. The opposition has been continuously attacking Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his use of words against Rabri Devi yesterday (Monday). This continued to cause uproar today.
The Speaker said that a written application has been given by the members of the ruling party that the proceedings of the House are being disrupted by the opposition and I have special authority in this matter, I am sending it for investigation.
'These people want to hijack the House...'
Amidst the uproar of the opposition, Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that these people (opposition) do not work in the interest of the state. They do not want to listen to answers. They are creating obstacles in the work. They are insulting the temple of democracy. They are breaking the system. They are disobeying the orders of the Chair. During this, Ashok Chaudhary also clashed with the opposition. He started saying that these people (opposition) deliberately want to hijack the House. During this, other leaders including Sunil Singh from the opposition side also clashed. The leaders of the ruling party started shouting slogans in protest, "Stop insulting the Chair... Insulting the Chair will not be tolerated."
Even before entering the House, the opposition created a ruckus.
On the other hand, even before entering the House, opposition leaders surrounded the government on the issue of law and order in the Bihar Legislative Council premises. Opposition leaders, including former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, held placards and shouted slogans against the government at the main gate of the Bihar Legislative Council. Senior RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui sarcastically said, "Our Chief Minister is out of his senses. Sometimes he removes someone's mask and sometimes he makes someone remove their cap. Yesterday, he even used abusive language against Rabri Devi, the state's first female Chief Minister."
